Customers,

    Harvest-Monrovia Water, Sewer and Fire Protection Authority Effective June 1, 2009 will have to increase water and sewer rates by 10%.  The Authority’s Board of Directors had to make a difficult decision at the regular monthly meeting on April 14, 2009.

    Due to Debt Service requirements with the Bond Indentures of the Authority we had no choice but to raise rates to meet the requirements of these Bond Issues.  Because of the economic downturn and the major slow down in development and home construction the Authority has seen a decrease in revenues available to repay these Bond Issues.  It is for this fact the rate increase was needed.  This increase was held   to a minimum and hopefully economic conditions will improve and an additional increase will not be needed above the 2% increase at the first of every year.

     Also beginning June 1, 2009 there will be a convenience fee of $2.50 for use of your Credit Card to pay your water bill.

Water Rates effective June 1, 2009

Residential

First 2500 gallons  $12.25 minimum
Next 2500 gallons $4.66 per 1000 gallons
Next 5000 gallons $4.08 per 1000 gallons
All over 10,000 gallons $3.50 per 1000 gallons

Commercial

First 15,000 gallons $56.36 minimum
All over 15,000 gallons $3.50 per 1000 gallons

Sewer Rates

Residential

Flat fee per month $38.50

Commercial

0 – 15,000 gallons $73.55
15,001 – 50,000 $245.14
50,001 – 100,000 $490.28
Over 100,000 $980.56
